Update

The Kansas City Royals have advanced to the World Series after beating the Toronto Blue Jays in Kansas City in game 6 of their best of 7 series earlier today. We have updated the times that the games will be played. Each time outlined below is the local time in New York when the game will be played.

I t’s late October and that means the Major League Baseball World Series is about to begin and now that the New York Mets have made it into the World Series it is time to talk tickets, and how to get them.

When buying tickets to major US sporting events ensure you are buying through licenced agents and registered markets.

The New York Mets play in the National League and unfortunately in the 2015 World Series they do not have home field advantage. Home field advantage for the World Series is claimed by who wins the annual All-Stars Game played between the most popular players of the National League and American League conferences as voted for by the fans. As the American League All-Stars won it means that either the Toronto Blue-Jays or the Kansas City Royals will hold home field advantage, and the winner of that series will not be known for another couple of days.

As the Mets do not hold home field advantage this means that they could potentially only host 2 games of a 7 game series, and at most they will host 3. At a minimum games 3 and 4 of the series will be played at Citi Field and pending results game  5 will also be played in New York before heading back to the American League opponent for the deciding games 6 and 7.

The dates for the 2015 World Series are:

How to buy tickets

New York Concierge has a general warning about buying tickets to any major sporting events in the United States, make certain that you are purchasing your tickets from a registered ticket agent or authorised marketplace.

There are generally two ways in which you can purchase tickets. The first is straight from registered ticket agents such as TicketMaster.com or the team themselves which are best purchased directly through the team website (which is usually a redirect to the registered ticket agent).

The second method is to purchase tickets from other ticket holders, generally season ticket holders who are not planning on attending a specific game, through authorised exchanges such as the NFL Ticket Exchange, NBATickets.com Resale Marketplace or StubHub.com. When using one of these marketplaces New York Concierge recommends using the instand delivery method for choosing tickets this way you will also receive immediate confirmation of the ticket and will also have greater option of having a digital ticket available such as adding it to your Wallet on your iPhone (iOS).

Regarding the 2015 World Series tickets, StubHub.com currently has tickets available to the following games at Citi Field:

VisitingNewYork.com.au cannot guarantee if any tickets will remain available for any of the games above and for what prices they might be available at. It is also important to remember that when purchasing tickets through a ticket exchange that ticket prices will often become inflated – as with any marketplace when supply is limited and demand is high, the seller can demand the price they want.

VisitingNewYork.com.au has previously used StubHub.com and TicketMaster.com for major sporting events in New York and we have been very happy with the ease of use of their websites and delivery of tickets.

We will continue to keep you updated on the status of tickets and game times as more details are confirmed by Major League Baseball (MLB).
