The popular Bond 45 restaurant has confirmed that they will be moving to a new, bigger and better, location in 2016. Bond 45 is a very popular Italian restaurant located half a block back from the buzz of Times Square and its evening diners are made up of nearby corporate workers enjoying a quick and hearty meal before heading home, locals enjoying a night at one of the many nearby theatres and tourists stopping by to rest their weary feet and enjoying a hearty Italian meal before heading back to their hotel.
The restauraunt will be moving from its prime 45th Street address to across Times Square and will be taking residence inside the newly refurbished Edison Hotel on West 47th Street. The refurhishment of the iconic hotel will is long overdue and will allow Bond 45 to capture the highly lucrative Theatre patrons for pre and post Theater meals, as well as droves of tourists looking for a hearty meal after a long day of sightseeing.
The refurbishment will of the Edison will allow Bond 45 to have direct access from both West 46th and West 47th Streets to increase what is already a very loyal following.
The new space will increase the overall seating available for diners by over 1/3 to over 10,000 square feet of space. The new design will also create two distinct dining precints for the restaurant, with a lower level “Patio” offering a more intimate and possibly casual dining experience.
The Edison Hotel is the scene for one of best movies of all time, Sofia’s restaurant (located within the Edison Hotel) was the location for one of the most gruesome scenes in the movie The Godfather. In the film one of New York’s most famous Mafia families, the Corleone’s main enforcer, Luca Basri, had his throat cut while dining at Sofia’s. It is safe to say that the new Bond 45 will focus more on the amazing Italian dishes than wanting a starring role in another mafia movie.
The West 47th location for Bond 45 is expected to open in (the Northern) Spring of 2016.
